The Community Garden

The community garden in Marine St Seaside was created on a patch of grass outside Bethel Chapel in Marine Street.  The Community Association managed to secure funding from Communities First and the garden was partly designed and built by the youth of Seaside.

The Town Mayor Cllr Hywel Phillips a New Dock resident and member of the Association had recently passed away whilst still in office and it was decided to dedicate the garden to his memory.

Below is a photograph of the official opening.  As can be seen the centre piece of the garden is a feature containing some saucepans.  This was done to commemorate the fact that the factory that made the saucepans giving Llanelli it’s nickname was located in Seaside.
